Cycle of Sixty

The cycle of sixty results from a combination of the ten heavenly stems and the twelve earthly branches. Through this combination of stems and branches a rule applies in which there is always a connection between a yang stem and a yang branch as well as between a yin stem and a yin branch.

English

Earthly Branches (Twelve) - Shi Er Di Zhi - 十二地支

The twelve earthly branches describe the effect of the energy of the heavens as a result of the movement of the heavens.

Each earthly branch is characterized by yang or yin and a transformational phase (element).

Detailed information is found on the pages 25 ff of the text “Theoretical Bases and Concepts” which can be opened on the author’s website via the link “Time Acupuncture App”.

English

Heavenly Stems (Ten) – Shi Tian Gan – 十天干

The ten heavenly stems describe the energetic movement of the earth.

Each earthly branch is characterized by yang or yin and a transformational phase (element).

Detailed information is found on the pages 21 ff of the text “Theoretical Bases and Concepts” which can be opened on the author’s website via the link “Time Acupuncture App”.

English

Solar Time or Sundial Time

A sundial displays solar time. The terms sundial time and solar time are used synonymously.

Any application of Zi Wu Liu Zhu Zhen Fa and Ling Gui Ba Fa is based on solar time which can be calculated from local time.

In order to correctly convert any local clock time to solar time the following information is needed:

English

Daylight Saving Time (DST)

The terms daylight saving time (DST) or summer time describe a time period in which clock time in the form of hours in comparison to zone time is better suited to the use of daylight during summer.

What this generally means is the movement of an hour either forward or backward.

English

Date

The date according to our Western Gregorian calendar is displayed. This date has to be converted into the corresponding day number according to the Traditional Chinese Calendar.

More information about the Traditional Chinese Calendar can be found from page 40 in the manuscript “Theoretical Basis and Concepts” which can be opened on the author’s website via the link “Time Acupuncture App”.

English

Location - Geographical Longitude

Any location on the globe is defined by its longitude and its latitude. For the conversion from clock time to solar time, however, only the longitude is important as all places along a given longitude share the same solar time.

The app automatically takes the needed up to date information (“here” and “now”) from your iphone or ipad.
