Luo-Connecting Indications

You will find three main indications of the luo-connecting points in the acupuncture textbooks:

English

Yuan-Source Indications

The yuan-source points of the yin channels are more important than those of the yang channels.

The yin channel's yuan-source points allow an access to the yuan-source qi. They are used to tonify the corresponding zang organs.

In addition, the yin channel's yuan-source points can be used in diagnosis of the state of the yuan qi of the zang organs.

English

Back-Shu Indications

The back-shu points are directly connected with the internal zangfu organs. This explains their use for internal problems.
There are no indications for superficial channel disorders other than those of the BL-channel.

English

Mu-Front Indications

In Su Wen, chapter 47, the mu-front points are described.
Generally, we can state that the mu-front points are used for internal problems, and that there are no indications for superficial channel disorders. So far the indications are similar to those of the back-shu points.

English

Xiahe-Lower-Sea Indications

The he-sea-points of the yang channels of the arm treat mostly symptoms following the pathway of the respective channel, that is to say problems of the neck, shoulder and face.
The energetic supply of the fu organs, corresponding to the channel’s pathways, obviously comes more from the channels of the legs.

English

Fu Organs – Treatment Strategies

Clinically, the he-sea (including the xiahe-lower-sea) points of the legs are often combined with the corresponding mu-front points for any disturbances of the fu organs.

English

Switch on Yin

Yin Channel's Strategies

This catch phrase indicates that the treatment should apply yin channel’s strategies of the noon-midnight coupled pair of the timely channels.

English

Switch on Yang

Yang Channel’s Strategies

This catch phrase indicates that the treatment should apply yang channel’s strategies of the noon-midnight coupled pair of the timely channels.

The mode that we call “switch on yang” is indicated, for example, in most of the problems concerning the channels, the fu organs, and the skin.

How to Integrate the Timely Acupuncture Points into Your Treatment

A Combination of Different Methods

A combination of the different time acupuncture methods such as the Na Zi Fa, the Na Jia Fa or the Ling Gui Ba Fa as well as treatment strategies independent of time considerations is possible.

You may use the timely open points as the major points in a treatment and needle them accordingly. These points can be combined with additional acupuncture points with consideration for the special needs of the problem at hand.

Yang-Yin Switcher – An Extension of the Noon-Midnight Law

Meridian Clock's Coupled Channels

We could say that at any given point in time there is not only one channel open, but the coupled channel according to the meridian clock is always open for a timely treatment as well.

The two opposite channels always have an opposite yin-yang-qualification. That is to say, if the open channel has a yang qualification, then the noon midnight connected channel is qualified by yin and vice versa. Therefore we can say: Due to the noon-midnight law we have access to a yang channel as well as to a yin channel at any point in time.
